St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Chadin “Prime” Buchanan, recently released on bail for gun and ammunition possession, was the victim of a shooting Wednesday morning.
Acting Commander of District B Superintendent Travis Rogers told WINN that Buchannan was on Wingfield Road in Old Road just before 800 a.m., when he was shot by an unknown assailant or assailants. He was wounded in both legs and taken to the JNF hospital.
WINN FM understands that shortly before the shooting, Buchannan had come off a bus to take his child to daycare in the area. It appears that the child was not with him at the time that he was shot.
Buchanan, of Sandy Point but who has been residing in Boyds, was released from remand just last week after being granted bail.
In late September he and his girlfriend were arrested charged for illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition, after a security task force executed a search warrant on their Boyds Village residence and found a .380 pistol and five rounds of matching ammunition.
The girlfriend Keneisha Wattley was released on $50,000 bail three weeks ago, but Buchanan’s bail application was initially denied.
Last week he was granted bail in the amount of $75,000.
